Special Olympics Seeks Bowling Coach

PBL Special Athletes has an opening for a bowling coach.  PBL Special athletes serves the PBL and GCMS school districts by providing free sporting opportunities for people of all ages with disabilities.  The bowling program has been in existence for five years.

The practice season runs from late March through July, with the Area tournament in Champaign at the first of September. The gold medalists from the Area tourney compete at the Sectional tournament in mid-October in Peoria. The gold medalists from the sectional tournament compete at the State tournament in early December in Peoria.

Athletes have to have a 15-game average to enter the area tournament and typically bowl three games per practice. Practice dates, times, and locations are scheduled by the coach. All games and costs are reimbursed by PBL Special Athletes.  The only requirement is your time and completion a Class A certification on appropriate behaviors on the Special Olympics website.
