YOU WON’T WANT TO MISS THIS WONDERFUL EVENT! The 10th Annual disABILITY Resource Expo is just over 3 weeks away. Please help us promote this important event in our area by sharing this e-mail with friends, family, colleagues, and anyone you know who might be interested.
The disABILITY Resource Expo has something for everyone. This free family-friendly event will showcase nearly 100 exhibitors sharing information, resources and technology, all focused on improving the lives of individuals with various types of disabilities in our community and throughout East Central Illinois. There will be wonderful entertainment, fun activities for children, prizes and much more! Our Artistic Expressions Room will feature some wonderfully talented artists and entrepreneurs who will showcase and offer handmade items for sale.

What: Free Preschool Screening
When: Friday, September 16, 2016
Where: First Christian Church, 112 W. 12th Street, Gibson City
A free developmental screening is being offered to families with children age birth to five years old in the GCMS School District or Ford County. Children three to five years of age will receive screening for vision, hearing, speech and overall preschool skills. Special education services are available to children who qualify. Children from birth through age two will be screened for developmental readiness skills and referrals may be made to Child and Family Connections for children who may qualify for services. These screenings may take around an hour. For an appointment time, call GCMS Elementary School at (217) 784-4278.
The next meeting of the Ford County Special Education Cooperative Executive Committee will be August 11, 2016 in the Board Room of Paxton-Buckley-Loda CUSD 10 at 1 Panther Way (Junior High School), Paxton, Illinois at 5:30 p.m.
The Ford County Special Education Cooperative (FCSEC) Tentative Budget for Fiscal Year 2017 will be on display in the GCMS Unit Office at 307 N. Sangamon Ave. in Gibson City and the PBL Unit Office at 1 Panther Way in Paxton from July 1, 2016 to August 8, 2016. The FCSEC Budget Hearing will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the GCMS Board Room located at 307 N. Sangamon Ave. in Gibson City, Illinois.
